A report on the banality of love Mario Diament is an interesting work. There are excellent photos of the recent staging of this work in Caracas (in the Humboldt Cultural Association) in the Nicola Rocco Blog
.
As I say, I found it interesting, but only at the level of a passionate encounter between a German professor and his student any Jewish (any) at the beginning of Nazi power. The political and ideological sentiments of the couple are incompatible: the ambitious teacher is identified with National Socialism, to the susceptible, while repugnant brilliant student Fascism. The conflict between love, ideology, the power and danger are the subjects of this work and at this level the work is fascinating. The problem was that the teacher in question was
Martin Heidegger and the girl was dazzled Hannah Arendt, two of the most powerful thinkers of the twentieth century.
Talks between the two lovers include reference data were limited to his ideas, including the reasons that a man's waist Heidegger might have had to accept National Socialism. It was not foolish enough to adopt it due to a crude anti-Semitism, and in any event two of his lover was of Semitic descent. Perhaps his ideas on the nullity of being influenced attraction to an ideology so destructive. In any case, the two lovers must have spoken of these things on board and "pillow talk." A child * Martin, Hermann , spoke in an interview about his father's political alliances:
-
In this regard I can say something like. On July 29, 1932, when Hitler was in Freiburg in proselytizing activity Mosle Stadium, attended by my mother with her two children. There I first saw Hitler. My father did not attend. Two days later, he voted for the party of the winemakers of Württemberg. Surely the influence of my mother voted for the National in November 1932 and in 1933. ... L did not join the party, as always believed, on 1 May, but on 3 May. The entry date was delayed because the party had blocked the entrance. He joined the request and demand who was mayor at that time, Dr. Kerber, who was also regional coordinator. My father did that with the conviction that the university could manage more easily if he had the support of the party. That was a mistake, an error is justly accused. And as president in office, not only as president-designate, had to appoint the deans. Thus, on 1 October 1933, he appointed some who were not Nazis, as the dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Von Social Möllendorff, who a half ago was forced by the Nazis to give up the rectory. This fact clearly shows that Martin Heidegger was not working with the Nazis, but, in contrast, was far from them. When at the end of February 1934 was called to Karlsruhe and demanded the resignation of Eric Wolf and Von deans Möllendorff, unloved by the Nazis, he refused and resigned in protest at the rectory. The political mistake of my father in the spring of 1933 is indisputable. But accepting that he was wrong is registered in one of the "black books", dated April 1934.
seems Heidegger took to National Socialism as have others who have joined harmful movements, ie for practical reasons of race and maybe the ability to influence for good, but "from within." Some of this appears in the work of Diament. But the work I was disappointed at other levels. Could be enriched with references to the philosophical thinking of Heidegger and Arendt. I have not read much at first, but I'm a fan of Arendt, her thoughts are very relevant to the issues explored Diament; its publication
Responsibility and Judgement is complex and far exceeds the mutual accusations and trivial one as the audience hears Diament scenario. How Why Heidegger was a mere point
"tooth"
in the machinery of the infamy of that state? She explores this concept
in several books.
would also have been interesting to explore their identification with the secular Zionism and its abandonment of the belief that Jews are a "chosen people", which she said is incompatible with the ideals of justice and tolerance. There would have been difficult to incorporate some of this in the script Diament. References
