I always wondered why that Germany is the economic engine of Europe. How a country that has suffered two wars that destroyed its economy and infrastructure in just a century, has been able to get up and head back to the continent.
On the other hand, I have always tried to find the causes of my region, Extemadura, is at the tail of economic development within a country like Spain, which is not, so to speak smoothly, one of the first locomotives of the UEE.
Well, as I know that mathematics is an exact science and therefore are never wrong, I decided to take numbers to see if I find any explanation to my questions:
Rounding in Extremadura are 1,100,000 inhabitants. Of these, some 607,000 people since they are not working or retired, or age children and young people to study, or invalids. Of the 493,000 who we are (what we know as population) 118 000 are unemployed (no more and no less than 23.9%) as we only have 375,000 people working, of which, 97,000 are civil servants (representing the highest rate of the English regions, incidentally) and 278,000 non-public employees.
understanding with a practical example: Of 100 people who travel on this boat, 55 are sitting without a paddle because they are either very old or very young or are disabled. Of the 45 that remain, 11 of them because they have no rowing oars (they are stops) and 34 which are, 9 bogan not because they are dedicated to maintenance of the boat (they are employees). So, on this boat Extremadura, of the 100 people who travel only 25 row.
In Germany, on the other hand, live about 81,800,000 inhabitants. Of these, 39,400,000 are not working because they are elderly, young or disabled, ie there are 42,400,000 people who can work (labor force). Of these, more or less, 3,100,000 are stopped (only 7.4%) so there are 39,300,000 workers, of whom 4,500,000 are employed; making them 34,800,000 of Germans working outside of public employment.
Returning to the example of the boat and for comparison, in Germany, 100 passengers board paddle 48 is not being retired, youth and children, and invalids. Of the 52 we have 4 bogan because they have no oars available (unemployed). And finally, of these 48 remaining, 5 of them dealing with maintenance of the ship (officials). So, on this boat Teutonic, of 100 travelers, 43 are paddling .
In these times when the sea is very chopped ... can anyone now doubt the reason that Germany is economically light years away from Extremadura?
