ecibí one of these forwarding letters circulating on the emails that worries me a lot. It was sort of complaint addressed to Islam in general and the notion of jihad as "holy war." I feel compelled to comment on it.
is not true that Muslims are required to kill all infidels. The meaning of Jihad has nothing to do with the physical war, except for a tiny minority of believers pequieña. Most translate the word as "Spiritual warfare" or some kind of way to God, and not "holy war." The latter is a distortion made popular by the Taliban and similar groups.
The vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and respectful. When southern Spain was under its control before 1492 was a model of tolerance. The Holy Office came later, under Christian control. And just as I do not think Bin Laden represents Islam, in the same way I do not think that neither the Inquisition or the Ku Klux Klan represent the Christian faith.
